In the U.S., the disease has affected men over 65 years old, which accounted 75% of the total number of cases. Watchful Waiting in short is monitoring the patient’s health, waiting for other symptoms to occur while cancer is still in its early stage. Treatment like drugs or surgery are still not given until clear signs re determined thus, proper course of action are also being identified.

Surgery is an invasive method of treating prostate cancer and could be expensive too. There are different types of surgeries available today, however not all are applicable to all patients. Pelvic lymphadenectomy is a surgical process that removes the lymph nodes from the pelvis. The lymph nodes are examined for the presence of malignant tumors that might affect the prostate. Radical prostatectomy is a procedure that medically removes the prostate, the seminal vesicles, and other tissue surrounding the gland. The surgery could either be retropubic that slices the abdominal area, or perineal that makes an incision in the perineum.
