Its first NASCAR race was in 1953, and its first NASCAR winner is Lee Petty in 1953. This track encourages speedway style racing allowing drivers to race side-by-side as they position themselves throughout the race. Considered one of the great racing tracks, this is really ideal for NASCAR fanatics to watch in person.

Dover International Speedway - 1131 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19903
First NASCAR race was on 1969, with Richard Petty as the first winner. It features a high grip surface ideal for aggressive racing. The key here is the tires as tire wear in this tracks are very high.

Daytona International Speedway - 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, Fl. 32114: The first NASCAR race on this track was on 1959, with Lee Petty winning the first race. Known as the Super Bowl of NASCAR, it hosts two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races each year, which are the most biggest and fastest events of the schedule. The track uses restrictor plates that require better aerodynamics rather than horsepower out of the racecars. With this kind of track, and with the slightest of error by any one driver, would cause cars to pileup, making this racing track a challenge for most NASCAR drivers.

Bristol Motor Speedway - 151 Speedway Blvd, Bristol, TN
The first NASCAR race on this track was on 1961. This is a very exciting track, as it requires drivers to push and shove to gain position over the other. The high speeds of the racecars under these circumstances make for a great show.

Lowes Motor Speedway - 5555 Concord Parkway South, Concord, NC 28027
The first NASCAR race was held on 1960, with Joe Lee Johnston wining the first race. This track has hosted memorable legendary races. It also hosts the NEXTEL All-Star race, which effectively delivers racing thrills that any NASCAR fanatic would want to experience.

There are actually many more NASCAR NEXTEL Cup tracks and the above are just a few. There is the Michigan International Speedway that offers wide racetracks. There is the Watkins Glen International, which is one of only two in the NASCAR NEXTEL cup schedule where drivers have to turn right in the course. One, which is considered by most as too tough to handle because of the egg shape tracks and its narrow straights, is the Darlington Raceway. Each of these provide for different levels of excitement in car racing, as different racing & driving strategies are required to conquer each of these NASCAR NEXTEL Cup tracks.
