You know, it amazes me how many people that there are who will cover themselves with symbols of America, and then oppose its most basic and precious values. They might have patriotic t shirts, American flag bumper stickers, or yellow flags on their houses, but when it comes to the values on which our country was founded, they are the biggest enemies which America ever had. Having an American flag t shirt is all well and good, but what does it really say about you as an American? Does it mean that you are pro free speech to wear your American flag t shirt? Does your American flag t shirt mean that you support our troops enough to want to see them returned to their homes as quickly and safely as possible? If you wear an American flag t shirt, and yet are a warmonger, wanting only to see us marauding all over the world and not caring about the lives of American troops, than you should consider another form of attire.
The thing is, nowadays, American flag t shirts are more widespread than real patriots. I will even go one farther than that. I would say that, as the number of American flag t shirts spreads, be they sold over the internet, bought at the mall, or made from scratch at home, the number of patriots decreases. You see, the flag is just a symbol of America. Real patriots do not usually like to wear an American flag t shirt because the symbol is less important to them than the thing. Waving flags does nothing for our country, nor does putting them on our bodies. What does help far more than every American flag t shirt that has ever been made, is daring to stand up against the false patriots who threaten to plunge our country into ruin. Right now, we are fighting wars all over the world, plunging into debt, and immersed up to our nostrils in scandal and corruption while corporations and elected officials systematically loot our country and destroy all that is best about it. Instead of talking about the so called threat from so called terrorists, I would like to see all of the people who like to wear an American flag t shirt to talk about that, and to help the rest of us ordinary Americans to actually defend our freedoms from the greatest enemies that it has.
